Eyeglasses Lens Guide

Our eyeglasses lens guide

Learn about the lenses you can choose for your new pair, from prescription types to materials

PRESCRIPTION TYPES

We’ve got options to meet a variety of vision needs

Single-vision

These lenses correct one field of vision—near, intermediate, or distance. This option is what most people choose.

Progressives

Progressives lenses provide seamless near and distance correction, and everything in between, so you don’t have to switch between multiple pairs. Plus, there’s no line like bifocals and trifocals have. (If there’s an “ADD” value on your prescription, progressives are for you.)  To get progressive lenses we recommend that you buy an eyeglass and go with your eyeglass to the eye clinic where a doctor can mark your frames on your face before your progressive lenses can be fitted into the frame. To find a clinic near you, book eye exam

Bifocals

Bifocal lenses provide near and distance correction with a visible line of demarcation between the two portions of the lenses. To get the best fitting for your bifocals we recommend that you buy an eyeglass and go with your eyeglass to the eye clinic where your pupillary distance and segment height of your frame can be measured on your face before your bifocal lenses can be fitted. To find a clinic near you, book eye exam

Readers

These lenses offer simple magnification (up to +4.50) for, well, reading—no prescription necessary.

Non-prescription

Get all the style and protection of our optical lenses, minus the vision correction. Non-prescription lenses come with our frames at no added cost.

LENS TYPES

Add blue-light-filtering or light-responsive qualities

Blue-light Protection + Photochromic lenses

Premium

Blue light is a subset of light emitted by the sun, as well as by computer, phone, and other electronic screens. These lenses prevent the harmful blue light from reaching the eyes and also transition from fully clear to a darker grey tint when exposed to sunlight, UV rays, preventing eye strain and reducing glare. These lenses cost an additional N25,000.

Photochromic lenses

These lenses transition from fully clear to a darker grey tint when exposed to sunlight, UV rays, preventing eye strain and reducing glare. They also protect your eyes from 100% of UVA and UVB rays and filter more blue light from the sun and screens than our anti-reflective lenses. This option costs an additional N17,000.

Blue-light Protection + anti-reflective

Fan favorite

These lenses filter a higher percentage of blue light and has anti-reflective properties to reduce eye strain and the light coming from our computer and phone screens. This option costs an additional N20,000. It does not come as a photochromic lens.

Anti-reflective lenses

These lens coating protects your eyes from UV rays, preventing eye strain and reducing some amount of glare. This option costs an additional N10,000.

LENS MATERIALS

Polycarbonate and high-index choices for a range of prescriptions

Polycarbonate

Our most popular option, these lightweight, impact-resistant lenses is recommended for all prescription lenses that are for rimless eyeglasses. This costs an additional N15,000
