CHARITY SEES THE NEED NOT THE CAUSE.
At Tess Eye Care Foundation, our vision is to be the agent of change for the promotion of good vision and to eliminate avoidable blindness in society especially among the vulnerable group (women, children, the elderly and the disabled).
The International Agency for the Prevention of Blindness (IAPB) vision atlas presents the very latest eye health data and evidence that there are about 1.1 billion people globally with vision loss, and 90% of these can be prevented or treated. The projections are that vision loss will rise to 1.7 billion people by 2050 without significant investment.
Eye care services are unlikely to cope with future needs. Almost everyone will need access to eye care during their life time. This is why at Tess Eye Care Foundation our mission is to provide advocacy, treatment and prevention of visual impairments especially in places with poor access to eye care services.
